NOTE: The top row of finishers for Chugganomics come with the trio Happy Birthday. They are a direct buff to the original on the bottom row. New Gimmick comes with the Old Finishes, so don’t miss out on Happy Birthday!
Q: If Chugganomics is against Kaiser Wolf, and Botch Chug is in the discard, is Kaiser Wolf’s gimmick active?
A: No, Kaiser Wolf must actively look at a hand, playing with both hands revealed is not the same text as looking at your opponents hand. (Chugganomics, 2021)
Q: How does Chugganomics work?
A: The top card of the deck is revealed in a period I like to call “Deck Sitting Still” which means whenever the deck is not currently being touched by a card, and or gimmick. So the card should be revealed Before, and After the initial draw phase of a turn, then before and after a card is played, and before and after a gimmick would touch the deck, however between all of these instances while the deck is “Not Sitting Still” you do not have to reveal the card. For example 360 Lariat, will flip the top card of the deck, and then shuffle two from discard; the two cards you draw do NOT need to be revealed, thus you have drawn 2 “Hidden Cards” and then you reveal the next card since card text has ended.
A New Gimmick: If you play the top card of your deck, you do not reveal the next top card, until all card effects have resolved.
Q: No seriously, how does Chugganomics Work?
A: Oh you must mean Pour One Out right? Well… Chugganomics is a fan of “Mutual Destruction” as you can see! The original creation of this effect was intended for players to “play a mini-game” when it hits, such as Rock Paper Scissors and revealing 0-3 fingers to denote how many were being committed to discard at the same time. Competitively speaking though, as long as both players decide to discard an amount it’s fine.
Q: You aren’t listening. How does he work? Like… Seriously? He must be going bankrupt or something with that theme park right?
A: I have been advised by my lawyers not to answer this question.
Can you instead of having to continually flip the top card of your deck can you do a convulsion of nature from yugioh where you just play with your deck upside down?
The first draft of this competitor was actually Dangerous Dillon Bias’s current gimmick, however Convulsion of Nature was quite literally the second gimmick tossed around the idea pit when I first conceptualized this character. In testing we found that there is a lot of accidentally tagging your, or your opponents deck with the dice and that could reveal the entirety of a deck… And there was also the logistic issue of “What was now the bottom of your deck” in relation to burying, flipping and top decking… So at the end of the day this was the iteration of the gimmick that passed testing.
